Ship Treatises and Technical Documents
Filipe Castro
Introduction
I offered a class, ANTH614 – Treatises on Shipbuilding, at Texas A&M up to 2016. Changes in the structure of the graduate program made me quit offering this class as a seminar, but I kept teaching it as a “Directed Studies” class. Over the years, however, students from several countries have shown interest in this subject and I decided to include it in the NADL as a set of PowerPoints that can be downloaded and changed, improved, and perhaps help faculty and students offer similar or different versions of this course. I believe that it is much easier to change and adapt a class than it is to develop it from scratch.
Anybody interested in cooperating with PowerPoints is welcome. I want to clean and polish all my class PowerPoints, and I believe that this can go much faster if it is a cooperative project.
Below are links to PFDs of the NADL PowerPoints that I am cleaning and polishing, and that I hope will constitute the base for a class on treatises and technical texts on shipbuilding, in the western world, for the time being.
